Twitch’s Chat Moderation Tools Got a Major Upgrade

By FragCircuit Desk · April 25, 2026

Twitch shipped its biggest moderation overhaul in five years this month. Three changes will materially affect day-one stream-mod workflows.

Headline is AutoMod 3.0, a rewritten ML filter supporting streamer-specific tone calibration. You can now train AutoMod on examples of ‘what your community sounds like’ — and it learns the difference between in-jokes you tolerate and the actual problems.

New Mod Team UX consolidates ban evidence, message history, and recent enforcement actions into a single timeline view per user. Cuts mod-team coordination time roughly in half. Third change is Shared Ban Network 2.0 with proper privacy controls and audit trails.

The Circuit Take

AutoMod 3.0 is the headline. The Mod Team UX is the actual workflow win. Shared Ban Network 2.0 finally addresses prior privacy concerns.
