Steam Revenue Projections — What 2026 Actually Looks Like
Valve does not file public financials, but third-party tracking data combined with the Steam Awards-era release calendar makes a 2026 revenue projection meaningfully tighter than usual.
Our model puts Steam GMV (gross merchandise volume) at roughly $11.4B for FY 2026, up 6% YoY. The slowdown vs the 2024 peak is explained by Q1’s weak AAA release calendar and increased indie-spending substitution. Steam’s 30%-tier take produces an estimated $3.4B revenue contribution to Valve.
The interesting line is Steam Hardware. Steam Deck OLED 2 launching late 2026 should add a quarter or two of meaningful hardware revenue contribution, potentially offsetting any further GMV softness. The big asterisk: GTA 6’s PC release window — if it lands in 2026 calendar, our model is materially low.
$11.4B GMV is the base case. GTA 6 PC and Steam Deck OLED 2 are the two upside swings.
