AMD RX 9070 XT — The Best $499 GPU Right Now
AMD’s RX 9070 XT lands at $499 and represents the cleanest value play the company has made in five years.
Performance lands within 5% of the RTX 5070 Ti at standard rasterization at 1440p, and within 10% under heavy ray-tracing. That gap is meaningfully smaller than equivalent gap two generations ago. 16GB GDDR7 on a 256-bit bus gives genuine longevity advantage at 1440p ultra and 4K.
FSR 5 and the new ROCm-based productivity stack also matter. AMD’s software side is finally close to feature parity with Nvidia in consumer-tier driver. FSR 5 in particular looks better than DLSS 3 ever did at the same compute cost.
$499 for 1440p ultra with 16GB and FSR 5 is the best price-to-frames currently shipping. RTX 5070 Ti is faster, but $200 more.
