Nvidia’s Datacenter vs Gaming Split — Gaming Is Shrinking

By FragCircuit Desk · April 25, 2026

Nvidia’s gaming segment is heading for sub-10% of total revenue for the first time since the company went public.

In Q1 FY 2026, gaming contributed $3.1B against $24.6B in datacenter — that is 11% gaming share, down from 18% twelve months earlier. The 10% threshold is symbolic but real: when a segment falls below double digits of revenue at a public co, the strategic and capex allocation decisions visibly shift.

What this means for PC gamers: continued frame-generation and DLSS investment because those carry datacenter-AI synergies, but slower architectural attention to the consumer GPU stack. The Blackwell Super refresh cadence in 2027 will be the test — a clean refresh signals continued commitment, a delayed one signals further deprioritization.

The Circuit Take

Sub-10% gaming revenue is a milestone. The Blackwell Super timing is the practical signal we’ll all be watching.
